Janet Bidwell is an award-winning, top producing North Fork Realtor and Chairman’s Gold Award Winner. Before embarking on a career in real estate Janet was the owner of an elementary/high school/college textbook design and illustration firm. She honed her expert eye for detail with some of the giants of the advertising design industry at a premiere advertising and design house in Manhattan prior.
A little bit of personal background: The Bidwell’s were one of the “pioneer” families of the North Fork Vineyard and Winery experience, establishing Bidwell Vineyards and Winery in Cutchogue in 1979. Bidwell quickly moved to the forefront of award winning North Fork wine producers.
Janet served for years on the board of directors of the North Fork Community Theatre also directing productions and performing on stage in many musicals and comedies. An amateur astronomer, she is proud to have served on the Dark Skies Advisory Committee for Riverhead Town. The new lighting code she participated in writing was adopted in 2007, and was created to preserve our dark skies from light pollution. This code was subsequently adopted by other East End towns. She served 9 years on the board of directors of Hallockville Museum Farm, whose mission is preserving the agricultural heritage of the North Fork. Janet is the current Recording Secretary of the Long Island Mineral and Geological Society.
Other memberships include the Greater Jamesport Civic Association, the Old Town Arts and Crafts Guild, National Association of Realtors, the Long Island Board of Realtors (a former director of LIBOR), and the New York State Association of Realtors. Janet is also a Certified Buyer Representative (CBR). She has also been active in Greyhound/Galgo and Dachshund rescue organizations.
